give hawaii-i-i-i-i-i back to the natives

the natives are restless!!!...they are cutting their star out of our Flag, after 50 years as a state

I detected a real dislike of foreigners last time I was in hawaii several years back...saw a LOT of hawaiin flags, and very few (none?) U.S. Flags

almost got into a shouting match with a "native" at the car rental company when I was just trying to return my rental car - not much of what used to be called the "aloha spirit"

seems like every island and other word now has to have an extra "i"/"eee" sound at the end of it

so if these stupid natives want their little island back - LET THEM HAVE IT!

go back to living in grass huts and killing wild boar and roasting them in those stupid pits all lit by tiki torches

and forget about all those U.S. dollars coming your way and, probably even more, all those Japanese tourist dollars

God I hate ungrateful people...let em go back to their grass skirts and see how long they last on their own!

it USED TO be such a nice place to go

ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL 1 2 3

I would like to see this become the new Republican slogan...the issue of illegal aliens effects every branch of our economy, security, and well being as a nation

but HOW do we get Republican elected officials behind this issue?...they all seem eager to adopt so many pro-illegal issues it leaves me totally baffled

mccain had to be dragged kicking and screaming just to support building a fence, for God's sake...and where is that fence?...I don't think it ever happened

let me propose 3 main pillars for the ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL 1 2 3 movement:

1. build the border fence

2. prosecute employers who hire illegals

3. eliminate government handouts for illegal aliens

if Republicans can figure out how to get on the right side of this issue, they can save the conservative movement...if not, with 30 million illegals, plus the "family members" they bring in if they get amnesty, you can kiss any wins in national elections good bye for the foreseeable future

economic malaise

isn't it interesting how you can find a well respected economist to subscribe to almost any position you like?...obama has his team supporting his efforts...Bush had his experts...Clinton, Poppa Bush, Reagan, all had their armies of great financial minds, and all so different on how to handle the reigns of the U.S. econonmy

obama is coming out with his new budget as I write this...not much surprise in that he plans to tax the rich and tax businesses

why can't these guys see a benefit in eliminating the capital gains tax?...what's the downside of getting rid of this tax that punishes entrepreneurs and others willing to invest in developing America's businesses?...zero the capital gains, and watch the American economy skyrocket once again

but it won't happen under this administration and this congress...the democrats seem to have their act together much better than the Republicans did when they were in the same situation 8 years ago...the Republicans looked totally disorganized and splintered without direction...so far, the democrats look to remake America in their liberal image

Congratulations, America!

regardless of whether you wanted obama or not, it is a great day in America when a black man becomes President

make no mistake, racism is still alive and well in America, but how far we have come

I remember visiting a friend in D.C. some years ago and looking at a Washington Post she had saved from the JFK era...what struck me about that paper was reading "for rent" want ads that plainly stated "no colored" in the ad...right there in the Washington Post from the 1960's, right here in America...hard to believe, isn't it?

and now, 40 some years later, a black man is our President

Ramos and Campeon are to be free...what next?...the economy turns around?...life is good...enjoy it

obamagate

what are you hiding, Mr. President-elect?

for some unknown reason(s), obama and the dnc have spent around $500,000 or more defending obama from having to release his real birth certificate...obama also has refused to release a ton of other information that candidates standardly release...doesn't anyone wonder why?...obviously, the mainstream media (the "disciples" as Limbaugh deliciously describes them), doesn't care that obama seems to have something to hide

it makes you wonder if obama had some other reasons for his trip to Hawaii to supposedly visit his sick grandma whom he previously threw under the bus as a typical racist...Hawaii officials seem to be the only ones saying obama is a natural born citizen...everyone else seems to be saying he was born in Kenya...his Kenyan grandmother and Kenyan ambassadors , are all on record as saying that, and it seems everyone residing there is quite proud of the fact obama was born in Kenya...doesn't it seem there is a big story there somewhere?

so it seems that obamagate is really crystalized in the question:

what are you hiding, Mr. President-elect?

now, if only we could get that question asked in some press conferences until the obama camp actually decides to answer it

no options

it's quite strange to me that I feel indifferent about b. hussein obama becoming our next president...I voted for McCain...I wanted McCain over obama...but I really didn't want McCain either

conservatives really didn't get a choice in this election

the Republican primaries were set up with states up front that allowed independent and cross-over voting...those are the people that gave it to McCain...the numbers showed conservatives rejected McCain over and over, but the independent/cross-overs loved him...it's evident that those independent/cross-over voters went for obama in large numbers...so the Republican nominating process was sabotaged from the start

not that we really had any good conservatives to choose from anyway

who is going to take the mantle and lead a conservative movement?...my bet is the best chance will come from the crop of Republican governors...senators and congressmen are just too jaded from their D.C. service...something weird happens to even good people when they get swallowed up in the D.C. morass...what popular opinion wants to call "experience" turns you into a McCain, a McConnell, or worse...you want to "compromise" and "get along" and get invited to the parties, and most importantly, get re-elected so you can continue to ride the gravy train

I hope someone steps up soon, cause the campaign for 2012 started yesterday

ok...obama really does look like Curious George

not trying to be mean or racist...thems just the facts, folks

you heard it on the Limbaugh show months ago, and now it's confirmed with the photographic evidence!

it's really all on bill, isn't it?

hillary would not be in the discussion without bill...hillary would not be known without bill...let's say hillary divorced bill - how soon before her numbers hit a big fat ZERO?

so, it's not about hillary - it NEVER HAS BEEN about hillary - it's all about bill...and as the next "super tuesday" approaches, the real question is:

DOES BILL HAVE ANY JUICE?

in spite of all this crap about "hillary's campaign is putting the reins on bill" and what not, if hillary ultimately wins, it's because of bill...if hillary ultimately fails, it's because of bill...it's not a vote on hillary, it's a vote on bill

one other funny thing to consider in passing...if hillary/bill ultimately steal this election, and hillary get 8 years, that would put chelsea at age 36, old enough to run for president

so if America wants 8 more years of bill, we could have ANOTHER 8 more years after that!

hehe

Conservatives have become a Troublesome Minority in the Republican Party

it's obvious...every exit poll you can dig up says Conservatives overwhelmingly reject mccain and support Romney, but mccain keeps winning...even in AZ, mccain's home state, conservatives rejected mccain 2 to 1, but mccain still won

I guess it's just a changing political landscape...thinking back to the 70's, it was the colossal failure of jimmy carter that brought about Ronald Reagan, and the Reagan Revolution

history repeats itself...we may well be in for 4 years of hillary, obama, or both, that fails so miserably a new Reagan could well rise from the ashes of what has become of the Republican Party

kind of like the Phoenix, but I'll bet he doesn't come from that state whose capital is Phoenix

2000/2004 redux

2000 - Bush vs. algore

2004 - Bush vs. kerry

2008 - ?

is there really anyone exciting to vote for?...have any of us really felt enthusiastic about voting since 1980?

I might be able to get excited about Buchanan or Gingrich (and that really is "might"), but neither of them would have any chance of getting the nomination

election malaise

I often feel it doesn't really make much difference who is in the oval office...just a general feeling that Bush has probably kept our taxes lower than kerry or algore would have...Bush probably has kept America less welcoming to illegal aliens than a democrat would have...I'm fairly certain Bush responded better to the terrorist threat than any liberal would have...and Bush definitely kept us from giving in to the environmental whackos better than algore and his ilk

President Bush - probably better than some democrat liberal...is that to be his legacy?

isn't is strange that Republicans can't seem to find a candidate that the base can get excited about? (not that the democrats are doing any better)

Romney is starting to seem more and more like a typical Rockefeller/northeastern Republican...McCain has so much anti-conservative baggage that I can't believe he is still in the picture...Rudy (see Romney comments)...huckabee? - he's from hope, arkansas - what else do you need to know?...and Fred just doesn't seem to care

it's all just very disappointing at this point, isn't it?
